Literacy

We will be working on Making Predictions.  A prediction is a guess made by the reader using pictures or text clues.  Good readers make predictions before and during the story.

Here is the class model we will be using to help us make predictions while reading.


Text- MISS MALARKEY LEAVES NO READER BEHIND

Prediction:

Based on the title, I predict Miss Malarkey is a teacher who wants to make sure this little boy becomes a reader.  She wants to offer him choices of books to read that is why she has a stack of books in the picture.  Based on the illustration, I can confirm that she is excited about books but he looks like he would rather play video games because he has an electronic device in his hands.  I predict that Miss Malarkey will find the right book for her students.
